David Bailey’s memories of his 1986 Honda and the US GP

David Pingree caught up with the icon, David Bailey, about his 1986 500cc machine and the USGP that year, with a replica of the machine in the background evoking the memories of that 86 and final pro season for one of the smoothest riders in history.

“Riding it was really fun, it was like a 250 but faster,” said David on riding the fabled factory red machine. “The thing that was kind of deceiving about it, you look at the tank, it’s huge, but when you where on the bike it was really comfortable, it worked great.”
