Dave Kooiker signs with WZ KTM

After a number of years being part of the Yamaha family and the Hutten Metaal Yamaha team, the 2023 season is going to be a big change for young Dutch talent, Dave Kooiker switching teams and brand.

Kooiker ended the 2022 season testing with a WZ KTM and raced the final round of the ADAC Youngsters Cup with the team in a view to sign with them permanently and the deal has worked out. There’s no doubt that Kooiker has bags of talent but since making the move up to the EMX250 series hasn’t been as consistent as he’d like to be.

The WZ KTM team enjoy working and developing younger talents so will be hoping the change of environment can help get the best out of Kooiker.

“Ready for a new chapter! I’m happy to announce that I’ll be racing for WZ-Racing KTM in 2023”, Kooiker stated on social media. 

Kooiker will focus on the competitive EMX250 series in 2023 and race a few rounds of MX2 World Championship races as a wildcard.
