Christian Craig was one of a few AMA riders who were not happy with the preparation of the Pala track thinking it was too rough and dangerous, especially with the ruts in the faces of some of the jumps.
Craig wrote on Twitter: “I think whoever prepped that track today was secretly trying to kill us. That track was insane!”
Even race winner Dylan Ferrandis said it was the roughest track he ever rode in America and it reminded him of racing in the GPs. But it also gives an insight into how the US men just aren’t used to tracks that gnarly with most of their circuits ripped deep and maintained throughout the day allowing them to pin it through berms and ruts in the loam.
