Confirmed: Samuel Nilsson signs MX2 GP deal

Samuel Nilsson has been given a huge opportunity as he’s signed with the Racestore KTM team to contest the 2022 MX2 World Championship season. The team were on the look out for another ride after they parted ways with Jan Pancar and they’ve decided to snap up Nilsson.

It’s going to be a great experience for Nilsson as he’ll learn lots from the best 250cc riders in the world and he is looking to grow as much as possible over the next season.

The Racestore KTM team will also contest the EMX125 championship for the 2022 after signing up Simone Mancini to contest the series.

“The deal came not so long ago honestly! We started talking with the team owner and see what was possible for next season together and it turned out super good! It feels really really good to have a MX2 GP ride, I think it’s a really good opportunity and it came at a perfect time. I don’t really have any “big” expectations, I just want to enjoy and get as much experience as I can… but for sure give my best version and try to be inside the points or even better each time I’m on the track, I just want to thank the Racestore KTM team for the opportunity! Let’s have a good year together”, Nilsson told GateDrop.com.

“The signing was all so sudden… initially we did not want to do anything in the world championship as as we have many commitments with the commercial activity and soon we will open a second store. Then Simona, who coordinates the team, strongly wanted to repeat the adventure. So, we decided to support a very young man. It is a bet that we will make together”, Paolo Mencacci (Racestore KTM team manager) told GateDrop.com.
