There will be an Indonesian presence in the GP paddock next year as the Lubis Brothers have signed with the DVS Junior Racing team for the 2025 season. They have been with the team in the past but have had some visa issues, they are hoping that is now all behind them.
Angga Lubis will contest the EMX125 championship with his brother, Orel racing the MX2 World Championship – all European rounds as well as the two rounds in Indonesia.
They will both race TM machinery and are already in Europe to start preparing for the 2025 season.
“Last Sunday the Lubis Brothers from Indonesia arrived in Belgium to prepare themselves for the 2025 season. For both of them 2024 was a disappointing year because of a very serious wrist injury from Orel combined with the visa problems for the both of them and their mechanics”. Dirk Vansummeren, team owner told GateDrop.com.Â
“For 2025 the goal is for Orel to adapt and try to score points in the MX2 World Championship class which he will compete in the European rounds and both the Indonesian rounds. Angga’s goal is to qualify for EMX125 and also try to score some points . Both boys have been working hard while they were back in Indonesia and we hope we can have a great season. We also want to thank their parents for their loyalty towards DVS junior Racing because this is the 3rd year in a row that they ride for the team. In the beginning of December we will come with an update because there will be be a few riders that will test the new TM bike to join our team”, Vansummeren added.Â
The DVS Junior Racing team revealed the news via social media:
Last weekend the DVS Junior Racing riders from Indonesia arrived in Belgium. We are looking forward to going to sea with them for the third year in a row and we thank the Lubis family for their loyalty to us. Both riders are now injury free and can now prepare for the 2025 season. Angga will compete again in the EMX125 class and Orel will compete in the MX2 class.
We wish the Lubis brothers good luck and hope that now their visa problems are finally solved and they can stay in Belgium for a full season. There will be a new update on who will be joining the team in early December.
