Darren Lawrence on his two sons fighting for one title

Jason Weigandt spoke to Darren Lawrence about the unique situation he finds himself in with his two sons battling to be crowned the 2026 450 Pro Motocross title but he made sure to emphasise he wants both boys to give their all and win it straight up.

After some crazy theorise this week, Dazzy set the record straight: “Jett was like, man, that sort of sucked, (after he won SMX with two laps to go v Hunter last year) I took that away from my brother, you know? And I said, yeah, but you cannot never, ever, lay over for Hunter, or lay over anyone, because that’s when Hunter will be pissed. He wants to win it from the king, or win it straight up.

“So I know that when you put your helmet on, you’re racing, but afterwards, that part of your heart, because it’s your family. I understand it, mate. It’s only natural you feel bummed for your brother, but you can never, ever lay over, because you gotta make sure that you win it straight up.”
