Ricky Carmichael is edging towards Hunter Lawrence as his favourite to win tomorrow’s title shootout with brother Jett Lawrence, the elder Australian is just one point ahead of his younger brother but neither Lawrence can afford a mistake and have to execute perfectly.
And that is part of the reason RC is favouring Hunter, speaking on the Title 24 Podcast, Carmichael opined: “I feel like Jett, when I’m watching him, I just never know. I don’t have that confidence like he’s going to get the holeshot like I do with Hunter. It’s little stuff like that that I feel has plagued Jett all year long and that’s why I like Hunter better.
“With Hunter, I feel confident he is going to get a good start, he is going to be good, be sound unless something happens like a Unadilla, like a big surprise. You can flip a coin and make a fair argument for both those guys.
“It would be a great story with how the Supercross championship went down and if Hunter’s was able to rebound just from the mental side and what that would do and the mental fortitude he has. It would also be a hell of a story for Jett if he was able to win after a gnarly injury. I still feel like that foot has to be bothering him.”
