In MXGP, it was Jeffrey Herlings who set the pace on his new Honda machine. He was a second faster than the talented Lucas Coenen.
Tom Vialle put in a good lap for third over Pauls Jonass who seems comfortable on the Kawasaki. Romain Febvre rounded out the top five with Maxime Renaux sixth.
Tim Gajser will want be looking for more pace in the races as he was eighth fastest.
Just like in MX2 free practice, it was another KTM 1-2 in the same order with Sacha Coenen putting in the fastest time over reigning world champion, Simon Längenfelder.
Camden McLellan was strong going third fastest with Liam Everts fourth. Mathis Valin rounded out the top five on his Kawasaki.
