Earlier this week, we reported that the factory Yamaha team are not expected to field an MX2 World Championship team for the 2027 season which has since been confirmed by Yamaha Motor Europe. This has left the future of the Reisulis brothers, Janis and Karlis, uncertain.
However, it now appears that both Latvian talents could be heading to KTM for the upcoming campaign, with the brothers expected to race full factory machinery despite lining up under different team awnings.
Janis Reisulis is expected to join the Austrian-run Red Bull KTM team, where he would partner 2025 MX2 World Champion Simon Längenfelder. The move would see the Latvian continue his progression in the MX2 World Championship after his rookie season behind him where he finished sixth in the standings.
Meanwhile, older brother Karlis Reisulis is expected to move to Van Venrooy KTM. Although he would be under a different awning to Janis, he is also expected to have access to full factory KTM machinery for the 2027 season.
With Yamaha’s MX2 future looking increasingly uncertain, a move to KTM would provide both brothers with an opportunity to continue their development at the highest level. It would also be a coup for KTM to sign two more talented brothers for the future.
Adamo to join de Carli KTM?
Andrea Adamo could also be on the move within the KTM structure for 2027, with the Italian expected to switch to the de Carli Red Bull KTM team.
Adamo enjoyed a strong rookie season in the MXGP World Championship, finishing fifth in the final standings. Already under contract with KTM, the Italian is expected to change awnings and join the de Carli-run outfit for the upcoming campaign.
Following the departures of the Coenen twins, Lucas and Sacha, who have both officially confirmed their moves to America for 2027, de Carli KTM needed to assemble a new rider line-up for next season.
Adamo is expected to join Maxime Renaux in the MXGP class, while Valerio Lata is tipped to represent the team in MX2. However, as with the expected moves involving the Reisulis brothers, official confirmation from KTM is still awaited.
Expected KTM rider line-ups for 2027
Based on the current information, KTM’s anticipated rider line-ups for the 2027 season are as follows:
Red Bull KTM (Austrian team)

De Carli Red Bull KTM
- Andrea Adamo – MXGP
- Maxime Renaux – MXGP

With several changes expected across the KTM structure, the Austrian manufacturer could have a significantly different line-up for 2027. For now, these moves remain rumours, and official confirmation will be needed to establish the final rider line-ups for the upcoming season.
