Jeffrey Herlings set the pace in MXGP free practice and was a second faster than Tim Gajser with Glenn Coldenhoff third fastest.
Jorge Prado was only eleventh fastest but will be eager to improve as the day continues.
In MX2, Lucas Coenen set the pace ahead of Mikkel Haarup who continues to impress on his Triumph.
Simon Laengenfelder was third fastest over Kay de Wolf with Sacha Coenen rounding out the top five.
