Webb on leaving KTM…

Cooper Webb has released some comments of his own following his mid-season departure from Red Bull KTM that was mutual.

An appreciative Webb said: “Forever grateful for the opportunity that Roger, Ian and the entire @redbull@ktmfactoryracing team gave me. It has been one hell of a ride and I’m proud of what we accomplished these past five seasons.

“Together, we’ve decided to go our own ways following my practice crash last week, which will leave me out for the rest of summer.

Then, he intriguingly said…”See you at the races soon 👊🏽”

According to Moto Aftermath on Twitter, Webb wasn’t allowed to use the suspension he wanted at KTM and he also is hearing positive news on Tomac…

So where next for Webb? The big money is on Webb going to Star Yamaha and if rumours are to be believed, Eli Tomac will also be back in 2024 (supercross only) meaning the duo who fought for the title this year could be teammates!

“See you at the races soon,” Does that indicate Webb will be racing before A1 2024? Could Webb even ride SMX this year on Yamaha? So many questions and right now not many answers.

It also brings into the equation WSX, with Chad Reed telling us that “99% of all riders want to be here, they want supercross only.” and with talk Webb actually wanted to race WSX this year, the door could be open for he and even SX only Eli to do WSX next season for the series if the stars align.

It wouldn’t be a bad testing ground for Webb to do a one-off this year to get ready for AMA SX in 2024! See Reed’s answer 5 min 6 second in…
