Whilst contesting the opening round of the Dutch National championship which took place in Oss at the weekend, Sven van der Mierden had a HUGE crash.
Van der Mierden was having his first race on his Kawasaki machine but things went wrong.
The bike hit a bump and just took off, the marshal is lucky he was protected otherwise it would have went much worse for him as well.
It goes to show how fast bikes are these days for these kind of crashes to happen.
The latest regards van der Mierden injury is that he has dislocated his shoulder via MXPlanet.nl.
It could have been much worse! The Dutch rider has had shoulder issues in the past so requires an operation and is expected to be off the bike for approximately ten weeks.
