Video: Herlings getting injured on lap one but still winning

It was a hot day in Netherlands on July 18th, 2021. After starting the season strong, Tim Gajser came in to this race as championship leader with 6 point lead over Jeffrey Herlings.

Not only this was a home race for Herlings, this race was held on a sand track. If you are new to this sport, you might be wondering what’s the big deal?

Well, Jeffrey Herlings is arguably the greatest sand rider on the planet. It’s mind blowing watching him get around the track and use track’s roughness to his advantage jumping over accelaration and braking bumps and treating them as small jumps.

Not only that, but Jeffrey also carried the momentum from previous race after he took the overall win in Italy. With all that being said it was no surprise to see Herlings take pole position in timed practice session going in to the race. IT’S TIME FOR PREMIER MXGP CLASS RACE 1!
