Ben Watson spoke to Ed Warren, Tommy Searle and Billy Bolt on the 2 Pro 1 Slow podcast and opened up about his difficult season in a great edition of the Pod that also features talk about the WSX in Cardiff.
Watson admitted it was a tough year on the factory Kawasaki, especially starting the season as the lone Kawasaki rider with Febvre hurt: “This year, honestly, I didn’t enjoy it, I rang my parents sometimes and would speak to my girlfriend and say, after this weekend, I think I am coming come. I am going to call it a year, I don’t care about the money or whatever.
“Everyone around me, everything was all new (with Ice One also switching to Kawi from Husky). If I went to a training day there was like 10/11/12 members of the team, just there in two sprinters, cameras, suspension technician vans, just for me to start to get used to the bike. There was so much weight on my shoulders in one moment before the race even started, I was mentally just drained.”
