Former Star Yamaha rider and current 450 privateer, Ty Masterpool has got another shot at glory on a factory team with Mitch Payton giving the youngster a 250 ride.
Payton only has Levi Kitchen fit on his team with Vohland, Forkner, McAdoo and now Hammaker all, unbelievably, injured!
Masterpool lit up the 450 class last year as a privateer outdoors and even rode Pala press day on the 450 with intentions to race that class! But now, with a race winning bike under his control, this is his chance to really make a name for himself at the front of the pack and change his career.
“It was all very much last minute,” admitted Masterpool. I pretty much got the call yesterday (Thursday) morning, they said, ‘let’s race Hangtown,’ I said let’s do it right now and they agreed.”
