Tomac on a disappointing eighth in Indianapolis – tough one

Eli Tomac lost the championship led by a point to Cooper Webb at Indy after finishing a in eighth place at the rutted Indy. The defending champ even went from first to fourth in his heat and never looked comfortable all day.

Tomac said in the press release: “It was a tough one today. The track was pretty gnarly, and we just struggled to find our comfort zone all day. We did our best to salvage some points. We’ll put this one behind us and come back next weekend in Detroit.”

Team manager Jeremy Coker echoed those comments saying: “Today was just an off day for us from the start. The track was extremely challenging, and Eli was not comfortable throughout the whole day. We worked hard to help and fell short. We will regroup and rebound just like we have all year.”

The pressure is now on for Tomac to regroup this weekend in Detroit and get the red plate back against Webb who no has the championship momentum even without winning last week – can he do it?
