Lewis Phillips got some key answers from Eli Tomac on some key topics with the American legend now healthy after that scary crash at Pala and racing this weekend at Millville.
Tomac also made himself available for team USA at Ernee, saying: “I guess i kind of have to be!” And also confirmed he is racing next year- just Supercross only at this point.
On his injury recovery, Eli said: “The process was just listening to my body and then also listening to doctors like, hey, you have to get a secondary image to know that this inflammation is out of my ligament and my neck is okay. So it’s tough because with your neck, it’s not really taping it up, you can’t just kind of get away with it.
“And to be honest, you have to be careful, it’s your freaking neck. So it’s a bit of an unknown, but just listening to my body and then listening, or getting the green light basically at the end for a secondary image.
“It’s been a couple of weeks (back on the bike). Like I’ve had enough time where like, okay, I’ve had enough practice now, let’s go racing like another 30 plus two at home is not going to benefit me.”
