Title favourite Geerts and rising teen star Coenen on the start of the MX2 world championship

Title favourite Jago Geerts spoke about his final MX2 season as he looks to finally win the world championship after three runner-up positions in a row. But Jago says he has had a few issues coming into the season while his countryman Lucas Coenen, the next big thing in GP motocross, talks about his first full season MX2 GP at just 16 years old after a mega impressive pre-season on the factory Husqvarna that saw him win races.

Geerts: I’m feeling quite good, I am not 100%. I had a few issues in the last weeks but I’m confident I can get a good result here and start the season on a good note. It’s a really nice track, it’s quite high speed but I like the layout and it’s just really fun to ride. It also gets quite rough with sharp bumps, I look forward to riding here tomorrow.

No really. I just want start the season and I’m looking forward to starting the season here, get a good result and get the season going and just keep working. After a few GPs we will see where we are.

Coenen: For the moment it is going good, it is my first time flying so far! The track looks good and I’m just waiting to go on the track tomorrow, looking forward to it! I just want to learn as much as possible throughout the whole season and we will see at the end of the season how it’s going to end.

We did four pre-season races and it went pretty good for me, like I said I am going to learn as much as possible and we will see what the results bring.
