Team USA delay MXoN announcment!

Team USA have delayed their MXoN team announcment according to Vital MX’S Michael Linsday and Racer X’s Kellen Brauer, and it will now not happen today at Ironman, the final round of the AMA Motocross series, as was previously planned.

The team is still not known with Sexton according to our sources still not out of the picture and considering going – but would he be doing it on a KTM (his rumoured desitination for 2024) with his Honda contract ending at the end of the season and does that technically end after thr SMX in September ? Or would Honda support him into October for MXoN?

It’s not an ideal time for America’s fastest 450 rider to be heading to France. If be is on a KTM, preparation would be limited but Sexton would deserve a lot of credit turning out for the team.

Haiden Deegan was the other key player but he has reportedley turned team USA down with some rumours even suggesting he may be racing an Australian supercross that weeked! But let’s wait and see on that one, Deegan and Sexton on team USA would be huge for their chances and the event itself.

Justin Barcia and Aaron Plessinger have been heavily linked, with rumours Cooper Webb would also be up for racing – and that could be on a Star Yamaha, just like he did at the same venue back in the 2015 MXoN!

RJ Hampshire, who was in the 250 title battle, is keen to race and could be the 250 guy if he can recover from his crash a couple of weeks ago at Unadillia.

Plenty of quality names have been linked but time is running out for everything to be finalised with just over a month to the biggest race of the year!
