Shaun Simpson to race the opening Irish Championship round

The Munster Motorcycle Club have confirmed that Shaun Simpson will race the opening round of the Irish Championship which is set to take place on the 27th of March.

The Scot has a background of racing all across Ireland as he used to race the Ulster/Irish Championships before his GP career kicked off and now he’s retired from racing at the highest level – we might just see him race in Ireland regularly again.

“We are delighted to say we will have Shaun Simpson racing at round 1 of The Electraction Irish Motocross Championship on March 27th. This won’t be the first time he has been here as when his father Willie Simpson rode the Grand Prix in the 90’s he was there to watch but this time his father Willie will be the one watching Shaun race. This will certainly the biggest start to an Irish championship in long time if ever! Just 24 days to go until gate drop”, the Munster Motorcycle Club stated on social media.
