Sexton on KTM being better outdoors

Chase Sexton was on the pace in his first outdoor race on a KTM, more than maybe some expected after his start to supercross!

Sexton chased Jett Lawrence right to the end of moto two in a high pace moto to show that he can be in this title fight and Sexton felt KTM’s GP background has helped his adaptation come quicker in motocross.

Sexton said: “It’s a lot easier in outdoors, I think that comes with how much testing they have in MXGP. If you look at the class over there, most of it is KTM based. 250 class for sure, 450 class, not as much.

“They have a lot more data and a lot more time with the bike. For me in supercross, I went completely the opposite direction to what everyone else was doing last year and years past so it took me a while to get it where I wanted it.

“Outdoors we are definitely closer, I feel it definitely works better outdoors. I feel like it is a pretty stable bike , today coming down the hills was good, not the greatest in the corners but we could go downhill fast, so that was nice!

“We have some work to do this will be an evolution for the whole season.”
