Brad Todd to race an AMA National round

Brad Todd has revealed that he has made the decision to race a round of the AMA Nationals. The British Championship rider will race round three of the series taking place at Thunder Valley on the 8th of June.

Todd is having a strong season in the MX1 British Championship as he currently sits sixth in the championship – tied on points with Jason Meara who sits fifth.

Racing at the highest level isn’t foreign to Todd who has experience in the GP paddock racing selected EMX and MXGP events in the past but he will now experience a new style and format of racing in America.

“It was a really last minute decision. My friend and I who helps me with mechanicing at the British was joking about doing one… I found a space in the calendar and text my sponsor Chris at Dk Off-Road and he said he could make it happen, it was a pain with all my licences stuff with only having 3 weeks to sort it all but I’ve done it now. I did have to sacrifice a round of the fastest 40 but this is something that doesn’t come around often. Not many Brits have done it and I thought f*** it, I’ve got to do it”, Todd told GateDrop.com.

Todd also added the following message on social media:

4 week ago Adam Crellin and I started a conversation talking about how cool it would be to do an AMA (laughs). I made a phone call to my title sponsor DK Offroad to see if it was possible. 3 days later Chris came back with a plan with some support from ace motorcycles in the US.

So here we are! I’m going to race Thunder Valley at the AMA Pro Motocross round. It’s something you dream of as a kid and it’s an absolute buzz that I’m doing it
