It was a very strong season for Danish talent Nicolai Skovbjerg, who finished second overall in the EMX250 Championship after an impressive campaign packed with wins and podium finishes.
Skovbjerg began the season with the MX-Handel Husqvarna team before making a mid-season switch to SixtySeven Husqvarna. While changing teams during a season is never ideal, the Dane was at least able to remain with the same manufacturer and continued to deliver strong results.
Now, as the 2027 season approaches, we understand that Skovbjerg has secured a factory ride for what will be his rookie campaign in the MX2 World Championship.
Following such a strong EMX250 season, Skovbjerg has certainly earned the opportunity to step up to the world stage, and we believe Ducati have moved to secure his services for 2027.
We believe that Skovbjerg is set to join the Beddini Ducati team next season, where he would line up alongside Ferruccio Zanchi. The team will put its full focus on the MX2 World Championship in 2027, making it an exciting opportunity for the young Dane.
A move to Ducati would also represent a significant change for Skovbjerg away from his home country, with the rider expected to spend much of the season based in Italy should the deal come together.
For Ducati, adding another promising young rider to their MX2 project will underline their commitment to the World Championship, while for Skovbjerg, it could provide the perfect platform to make his mark on the world stage.
