It was recently announced that young Czech talent, Julius Mikula has parted ways with the Osicka MX team which saw Mikula race his first season in the MX2 World Championship after making the big jump up from the EMX125 series.
Despite it being his first year racing the MX2 World Championship and picking up an injury, Mikula did show a lot of promise at the GP’s he did contest scoring 75 championship points. His best moto of the season came in Latvia as he finished tenth in race one and finished twelfth overall at the sandy track.
There’s no doubt he could have a good future if he can continue to develop and learn, his experience this year racing the MX2 World Championship will be invaluable moving on.
We understand that for the 2025 season, Mikula will swap his KTM machine for a blue one as he’ll end up under the TM Moto Steels Dr Jack Racing awning for the upcoming season. The TM ran Yago Martinez under the awning but the Spaniard ages out of the MX2 World Championship for the 2025 season which means he has parted ways with the team.
The team have been on the market searching for a replacement for Martinez and we understand they’ve decided to sign Mikula for the 2025 season. Mikula is still very young as he was only racing the EMX125 series so will hope to continue racing the MX2 World Championship for many years.
The move to the TM Moto Steels Dr Jack Racing will see Mikula based in Italy and spend most of his time based there which will be a change. It remains to be seen if the team will do all rounds of the MX2 World Championship or just the rounds that take place in Europe.
Nicky Mannini has already signed a deal with the TM Moto Steels Dr Jack Racing team for 2025 to contest the EMX125 series so Mikula will be under the awning with the young Italian provided the deal goes ahead.
