Rumour: Both Indonesian MXGP rounds to take place in Lombok?

After the opening round of the MXGP World Championship took place in Argentina, it’s not long until the series will head overseas again.

This weekend there’s a week break in the calendar but there’s then three rounds on the bounce in Germany (Teutschenthal), Latvia (Kegums) and Italy (Maggiora). There will then be a weekend off before the teams make the long trip to Indonesia for two rounds of the series that take place that side of the world.

Sumbawa has been scheduled for the 29th and 30th June but whilst a GP will take place that weekend we understand that it won’t take place in Sumbawa and instead the GP will take place at Lombok.

This means that both rounds to take place in Indonesia will be held at the same track in Lombok – hopefully the track crew can make some changes to the track in between both events to keep it interesting for the riders and fans so it’s not just the exact same circuit layout both weekends.

We will bring you the news once this is official.
