Rumour: Alessandro Lupino to secure a Factory ride in 2022?

Since moving up to the MXGP World Championship, Alessandro Lupino has been with the likes of Assomotor Honda, Gebben Van Venrooy Racing and now with the Marchetti KTM team. Since signing with Marchetti KTM, Lupino has been very impressive despite the MXGP field being so competitive and currently sits ninth in the standings.

We believe that the SDM Corse Factory Beta team are interested in securing Lupino for the 2022 season. Beta are a new brand in the paddock this year and have already had some good results with Jeremy Van Horebeek and the Belgian is believed to have already started testing the 2022 bike.

Lupino hasn’t been a full factory rider since his MX2 World Championship days but this would be a good chance of factory backing and it would be nice for the Italian brand to have an Italian rider under the awning.

Nothing is signed yet but once we hear more we will keep you updated.
