Rubini changes number for 2022

Stephen Rubini has been renowned for running the #118 plate for a number of years but for the 2022 season he has decided it’s time for a change as he’s confirmed he’ll run the #38 plate instead.

“This is it! I’ll be running the number 38 from now on for the MX2 World Championship. I felt like I needed to change, and even though it’s just a number, we will try together with Yves Demaria, Team Honda SR and Love my Training to make it shine throughout the season! #38”, Rubini stated on social media.

The French talent had been with the Assomotor Honda team for a number of years but after the team closed their doors it meant he was on the look out for another ride. The SR Honda team swooped in to agree a deal with Rubini and will hope to unlock his full potential.

After riding a large part of the 2021 season injured, this year is a big season for Rubini as it’s his last year racing the MX2 World Championship due to the U23 age rule so he’ll hope to impress and secure an MXGP ride for the 2023 season.
