Glen Coldenhoff got the holeshot over Prado who, a few laps in fell dropping to fourth with Gajser now second and Seewer third and Febvre fifth after Fernandez went down. Prado reeled in the top three and brought Febvre with his as the top five took away at the front. Gajser got Coldenhoff with a couple of laps to go, Seewer got Coldenhoff on the final lap and Prado tried to steal third in the final couple of turns but Glenn held on for third with Prado fourth and Febvre fifth – but any of them could win race two!

Seewer and Febvre also got Glenn and Febvre then worked his way into second as Seewer made a mistake with two laps to go that gave Fernandez a chance to pounce for third, in another great ride for the Spaniard.
