A pulsating 3 way battle with the Lawrence brothers and Eli Tomac saw Hunter Lawrence hold off both riders late to take a brilliant win! Hunter led early over Jett but a mistake allowed Jett through and then Jett momentarily stalled and that let Hunter and a charging Tomac by who had closed on on the brothers from a sixth place start.

Tomac was all over Hunter but he had Jett all over him with Hunter riding mistake free u der huge pressure to seal the win – what a race!
Hunter said: “It’s good, I can’t enjoy it is, we have another one to go. Everything is bigger in Texas including the heatwaves. I’m sure you can see at home how dry it is, it’s really tricky and all that horsepower, it can go wrong fast as you seen.
It was roles reversed in race two with Chase Sexton getting away top three and the top three of moto one all outside the top five! Sexton quickly passes Dylan Ferrandis for the lead and, by the time Jett Lawrence worked his way into second, at the halfway point, he was ten seconds back on Sexton. Hunter Lawrence stayed on Jett’s rear wheel until a mistake in the last lap almost lost him the overall win – but he saved it to secure third and the overall!
Sexton and both Lawrence boys now go into the final round in a winner take all scenario for the SMX title!
Hunter said: “Super awesome, had an accident on the last lap but that’s SMX. Happy to be getting out of here with the red plate. Glad I don’t have to ride that track again, massive shout out to the team, we couldn’t do it without you.”
