Race One: It was Lucas Coenen who grabbed the holeshot on his KTM. Gajser was able to quickly get into second but the Belgian was able to pull away as the Slovenian made some mistakes on the opening laps.

Coenen brought home a very impressive race win – he looks great after a tough qualifying day. Gajser settled for second – he knows a race win in the second moto will give him the overall.

Ruben Fernandez rode a lonely but good race to bring home third ahead of the very impressive Andrea Bonacorsi.

Maxime Renaux rounded out the top five with Romain Febvre sixth – he’ll be frustrated after a crash really cost him.

Race Two: Wow. That was bonkers. Coenen got the holeshot and had Gajser for company with the Slovenian pushing but then he had a big crash meaning a DNF and what looked like a collarbone injury – championship wide open!

Gajser wasn’t the only one to get injured on a rough, sketchy circuit. Guillod was battling in the top five and had a huge crash before Renaux, who was trying to keep Febvre behind him in second had an off track excursion and then had a HUGE crash!

Febvre came through the pack to finish second behind an very impressive Lucas Coenen who took his first MXGP overall – a perfect birthday gift for Davide de Carli.

Herlings was third in all the chaos but had Seewer behind him who knew he had to pass him to get on the podium at home – that is exactly what he did!
