Race results: MX2 World Championship RD19 – Darwin – McLellan wins GP & Farres champion

Race One: Camden McLellan took a rare holeshot with Guillem Farres just behind in what was a Triumph 1-2 and that was the way it finished which give the Spaniard the title after the first race – what a year for him and Triumph.

Liam Everts rode well and didn’t let the Triumph’s get away but couldn’t get close enough to Farres to make a pass.

Janis Reisulis had a lonely race to come home in fourth ahead of Sacha Coenen and the impressive Byron Dennis.

Race Two: It was Janis Reisulis who grabbed the holeshot and was looking good at the front of his factory Yamaha machine. Liam Everts was sat in second but Reisulis then made a mistake which allowed the Belgian into the lead.

McLellan didn’t get the best of starts but was able to make moves on his team mate, Coenen and then Reisulis made another mistake which promoted McLellan to second which was enough for the GP win.

Everts has ended the GP season in fine from and despite not getting a GP overall win he’ll feel good to finish the season with a moto win as he heads into 2027 with confidence.
