Race results: MX2 World Championship RD14 – Adamo perfect at Vantaa

Race One: There was big drama on the opening lap with Jago Geerts not getting the best of starts leaving him with a lot of work to do but Hakon Osterhagen had a big crash leaving Geerts nowhere to go. The Belgian crashed hard and was holding his shoulder – it doesn’t look good and very unlucky. At the front, Simon Laengenfelder held the early lead before Andrea Adamo made a move for the lead and pulled away to take the win – he now has 35 points on Geerts in the championship leading into race two. Everts rode well for third ahead of Kevin Horgmo. Lucas Coenen had a terrible start due to last gate pick but was the one rider able to make passes at a tricky track to overtake on but he recovered to fifth.

Race Two: The KTM’s all got good jumps out of the gate in the second moto with Sacha Coenen holding the early lead but it was Everts and Adamo who were quickly into first and second. Laengenfelder had just made a move into third but then crashed over the waves leaving him with plenty of work to do. Adamo passed Everts for the lead and then pulled away to dominate and take the first ever 1-1 of his career! Lucas Coenen was on the move and caught Everts for second but just couldn’t make a move stick and that allowed Laengenfelder to take advantage but he was flying! He passed both to end up second with Coenen finally passing Everts on the final lap for third. With Geerts unable to line up in race two, Adamo now has 60 points heading to Sweden in two weeks time!
