Race results: EMX125 RD5 – Valin wins at Kegums

Race One: The opening EMX125 moto was a superb race! The two championship contenders, Mathis Valin and Janis Reisulis were locked in a superb battle. The French rider was holding onto the lead and making Reisulis work hard to get away around. However, with eight minutes to go, Reisulis made his move to get into the lead and then dominated. Elias Escondell didn’t get a good start but worked his way up to third ahead of his team mate, Max Werner who had his hands full from behind but managed to hold onto fourth ahead of Julius Mikula. Cole McCullough had a great race on his return to EMX action finishing twelfth.

Race Two: After over night watering the Kegums track was much softer and sandier for Sunday. It was Valin who got the start and started to pull away at the front with Reisulis starting in sixth. The Latvian moved forward to third behind Werner but then Valin crashed but was still able to pick it up at the front. The French rider was able to respond and pull away to take a very impressive victory at Reisulis home track. Werner had another strong race finishing third for yet another podium. McCullough took a good start and excelled in the softer conditions finishing an impressive sixth for eight overall.
