Lewis Phillips talks to the big guns with Jett Lawrence, Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac all at press day at a dry Philadelphia.
And Webb says despite feeling this is his the best he’s ever been, racing Jett is his toughest rival. “It’s a lot different. I feel like he is a very tough competitor, he’s very fast, very strong, he’s fit, mentally he’s strong. So far it’s been my toughest battle yet, by far and having to pull out all the tricks. I think this one has been my toughest so far.
Lawrence, who has a five point lead over Webb, says of the title pressure: “I wouldn’t say i lay in bed thinking about it, moreso right before the gate drop is when we feel that pressure. It’s what we live for, we all work hard to geti n the spot that I’m in now…I think every racer want’s to be in this situation, it’s a cool experience for me. I am looking forward to battle with Cooper, he is an awesome competitor, it’s going to go down to the wire with him, I know that for sure.”
