EMX250 rookie, Mathis Valin set the pace in qualifying at his home round of the series in St Jean d’Angely as he edged out Valerio Lata with Maxime Grau third quickest.
Ivano van Erp put in the fourth quickest time but got docked ten positions for not respecting waved yellow flags. It promoted Francisco Garcia up to fourth with Karlis Reisulis rounding out the top five.
Cas Valk was only seventh fastest with Billy Askew putting in a quick lap for ninth. Joe Brookes went fourteenth quickest on his 426 Motorsport KTM.
