Sacha Coenen was quickest in group A Q1 by 1.8 seconds over second placed Levi Kitchen as the Belgian makes an early statement in the US sand. But it was Jake Cannon, Charlie Cannon’s brother, second quickest overall coming from EMX250 on his Bud Kawasaki and using the first session of the day via the B qualifier to his advantage. His teammate and EMX250 points leader, Garcia was 20th.
In Q2 Cole Davies was fastest but it was Coenen’s time from Q1 that held strong with Davies moving himself up to second.
In 450 Q1 it was Lucas Coenen who set a rapid pace 1.2 seconds quicker than Jorge Prado in second with Jett Lawrence third from Hunter Lawrence in fourth and Haiden Deegan top American in fifth just ahead of Roan van de Moosdijk in sixth.
In Q2 Prado was quickest from Jett Lawrence, Lucas Coenen and Haiden Deegan but the times were quicker in Q1 and that gives Lucas Coenen the first gate pick in his Southwick debut just like his brother Sacha!
