Mattia Guadagnini took the holeshot on his Nestaan Husqvarna in the MXGP qualifying race as rain continued to fall – the track was brutal. Prado made a quick pass for the lead and tried to pull away at the front.
Current championship leader, Gajser was on the move as he passed Jacobi and Guadagnini and then set his sights on Prado.
He was two seconds off Prado and then the rain started to get heavier. Gajser was then on Prado before Prado cased a triple and nearly went over the bars – it left the door open for Gajser to pass and then he never looked back.
After a really bad gate pick for Febvre it meant he didn’t get the best of starts but he was riding really well passing the likes of Seewer and Herlings to end up third. Herlings ended up fourth on his Factory KTM ahead of Seewer.
