MXGP qualifying race result: Jago Geerts took a stunning win in Lugo after his first holeshot of the year put him at the front of MXGP for the first time in his career. Geerts held off Febvre for 15 minutes but Febvre then went down and it was Coenen chasing Geerts on the last lap only to go down himself and hand Geertstje advantage he needed to cruise home for a brilliant win.
Geerts said: “It was really crazy. I finally got a good start, I was leading lap after lap and I felt really good. Febvre came past but crashed. I am super happy after quite a tough time but I knew it was coming back.”
