Qualifying race results: MXGP World Championship RD8 – Kegums

Jeffrey Herlings took a rare brilliant start in the MXGP qualifying race and was leading after the first corner. He had Ruben Fernandez and Glenn Coldenhoff behind him with Jorge Prado fourth on the first lap. It didn’t take Prado long to get into second and tried an aggressive pass on Herlings but couldn’t make it stick. There wasn’t much to split the pair the whole race with less than half a second at the flag with Herlings despite suffering from arm pump taking his first qualifying race win of the year. Prado will be very happy he was able to keep Herlings honest.  Febvre didn’t get a good start but was able to pass Alberto Forato for fifth.
