Qualifying race results: MXGP World Championship RD1 – Argentina

The first MXGP qualifying race of the year had plenty of drama! At the front it was a GasGas 1-2 around the first corner with Prado quickly passing his team mate, Guadagnini. Prado dominated and looked fantastic – he takes the red plate heading into race day.

Behind the GasGas riders it was all going on. Fernandez was strong in third until the last two laps when Seewer and Renaux caught him. Seewer got himself into third before cross rutting and had a huge crash! It gifted the impressive Maxime Renaux third place and looks great on the Yamaha.

Romain Febvre was solid in fifth ahead of Vlaanderen and Coldenhoff. Jeffrey Herlings started in ninth but struggled during the first couple of laps dropping down to fifteenth but he recovered to tenth to take a championship point.
