Petar Petrov left injured after a big crash following no yellow flags

KMP Honda rider, Petar Petrov took a big crash at the second round of the ADAC MX Masters which took place at Tensfeld at the weekend. There was a rider down behind a big jump and with no yellow flags waving, the Bulgarian naturally jumped and ended up hitting the bike.

Petrov raced both moto’s in pain and has now found out the extent of his injury which is a broken C6 vertebrae (located in the inferior end of the neck just above the thorax). It’s a big blow for Petrov as it could have been easily prevented if the flagger was doing their job.

“Well, what can I say? A broken C6 vertebrae. I just can’t believe my luck, our sport is very dangerous the way it is and this is why we have marshals at the races to make sure that things like this don’t happen. I really hope this marshal takes this as a lesson and really learn from this mistake because it could have been much worse. I mean you are there to work just as we are there to do our job. Anyway, it is what it is, I am not sure how long I will be out for but we will be back stronger”, Petrov stated on social media.Â
