Following the withdrawal of Tim Gajser, Lukas Osek will join the Slovenian national team as the third rider for the Motocross of Nations (MXoN).
It is important to emphasize that our expectations for this year’s MXoN are now significantly different following Gajser’s withdrawal. Tim is undoubtedly one of the world’s leading motocross riders ever, and his presence has a major impact on the competitiveness and ambitions of the Slovenian team. Nevertheless, the AMZS has decided that Slovenia will take part in the MXoN, as we believe that competing at such a prestigious international event remains an excellent opportunity for the next generation of Slovenian motocross riders.
For younger riders, the MXoN represents a unique chance to gain valuable experience at the highest level, compete alongside the world’s best riders, and experience the atmosphere and pressure of one of the most important events in international motocross. These experiences are extremely important for their long-term development and can help prepare them for future challenges at the highest level of the sport.
Therefore, while our competitive expectations following Gajser’s withdrawal are understandably more modest, our decision to participate is firmly focused on the future. We want to give our younger riders the opportunity to learn, develop and gain international experience that they can carry forward into their careers.
We hope that participation in events such as the MXoN will contribute to the continued development of Slovenian motocross and help our young riders become increasingly successful at other major international competitions in the years to come.
For AMZS, the MXoN is therefore not only about the result achieved at one event, but also about investing in the future of Slovenian motocross and creating opportunities for the next generation of riders to develop into top-level competitors.
