MRA committed to sending an Irish MXoN team to Mantova

There’s been a lot of uncertainty in the world due to COVID-19 and there was huge disappointment in the Motocross world when the Motocross Des Nations was cancelled last year.

The good news is that it looks like the event is all go this year with this years edition heading to the Italian sand of Mantova.

We contacted the Irish MXoN team manager, Philip McCullough and the good news is that he confirmed that the MRA have already committed to help fund the team in 2021. The funding isn’t totally complete yet as McCullough is awaiting confirmation from the MCI in the South to also back the event.

There will be a meeting with the MCI commission members later in the month where hopefully confirmation will be made available without any clauses or politics attached to it. Fingers crossed the meeting will go positive and we will see Team Ireland head to Mantova in September with the best line up possible.

The likes of Martin Barr, Stuart Edmonds, Glenn McCormick, Jake Sheridan and Jason Meara to name a few are in the picture to be selected.

As and when we hear more we will continue to keep you updated on the situation.
