Maxime Lucas secures EMX125 championship ride

Young Belgian, Maxime Lucas has a fresh challenge for the 2023 season as he’ll move up from the 85cc machine up to the 125cc. After a good year mainly racing in Germany and finishing second in the ADAC MX Masters 85cc championship (missing out on the title by two points), Lucas will now start riding the 125cc and prepare to race the EMX125 series.

Lucas has agreed a two year deal with French based team, Tech32 KTM team in which he hopes will be the perfect platform for him to develop as a rider over the next two years.

“It’s a really good team and a good opportunity for me. I’ve been there for a few days and already have a good feeling. This will be my first year on the 125cc so it will not be easy but I will give it my all to do my very best, 2023 will be a learning year for me. I’m going to train hard so I can make a good progress and hope to make some good results. I would like to thank Tech32 for this opportunity they give me. Also, thanks to my parents and family to support me in this choice. I’m very happy and looking forward to work with Tech32”, Lucas told GateDrop.com.

The Tech32 KTM team shared the news on social media:

“We are pleased to announce the signing of a new rider for the 2023 season. From the top of those aged 14 years old, Maxime Lucas will have the heart to shine the TECH32 colors and our partners. Already noticed in Belgium, for his results and talent, he wanted to integrate our team for his transition to the higher category. After testing, we have decided to validate our collaboration for 2023 and 2024.

On the schedule:
Internationals of Italy
French Junior Championship
125 European Championship

The team that preferred to focus on priorities has had to make choices regarding it’s 2023 drivers.  So our rider Noel Zanocz who has raced the last two European races for us and the Junior World Championship will not be part of the team in 2023. Leo Malchiodi and Ilyes Ortiz, young 85 cc riders, will no longer wear TECH32 colors next season. We wish all 3 of them a lot of success for 2023 and podiums in their future sporting careers”.
