It was the chance of a lifetime, with Todd Kellett, beach race champ, getting to experience life as a factory Yamaha MXGP rider for a weekend in Riola.
Kellet ended up getting points in race two with a 16th, making it 19-21-16 over the three motos and said: “This weekend has been an incredible experience!! It’s been an honour to work with the @yamahafactorymxgp boys. From start to finish they have been nothing but supportive 💪🏽 It was a challenge with some crashes and lack of bike time but to run top 15 for 25mins is something I’m pretty happy with, shame I waited until the last race to show my speed!! Maybe we keep the ball rolling, get better prepared and get booked in for another or go back to holiday mood 😂 Thank you all for the support 💙 @yamaharacingcomofficial @monsterenergy”
Kellett added in his Yamaha press release comments that the intensity of MXGP was another level: ““It was damn hard, but at the same time I really enjoyed this Grand Prix. A huge thanks to Yamaha and the team for this opportunity. The intensity is a lot higher than in the beach races. Not normal how crazy these guys go here. I felt like a squash player trying to play tennis. The crashes in both motos were a bit frustrating. But all-in all: a fantastic experience.”
