Herlings on his return to racing

Jeffrey Herlings only got the all-clear to ride this week and was forced to miss Lommel last weekend but the Dutch rider will be back racing this weekend already! The title is gone but Herlings loves racing and is wasting no time in getting back behind the gate, every GP win will of course extend his GP win record and, Herlings has the MXoN to focus on and a showdown with Jett Lawrence!

Herlings however says he has taken no risks with his fractured neck: “Once I knew the problem with my neck and back was going to need time and I’d sit out races then my only focus was to heal 100% before I came near the bike again. I know the physical and the mental cost of setbacks like this and I was determined to follow the doctor’s advice. If I couldn’t have the title this year then I wanted my health. I’m still in good shape so I hope it won’t take too long to get back at the front.”

It will be the first time since the 2021 title showdown in Mantova that Gajser and Herlings, the last two world champs, will face each other as well!
