Geerts on a frustrating British GP

With Tom Vialle out, this looked to be the luck and opportunity Jago Geerts needed and it appeared to make the effort of riding Russia injured worthwhile.. Geerts was presented with a big chance at getting the points he needed to get himself back on terms with his 2020 MX2 title rival. But unfortunately for the Belgian it was not to be.

Not a great start in race one but Geerts did ride well to come through to seventh, but the real damage was done in race two. Two crashes and no points have left Geerts 11th in the championship still 17 points behind Vialle and 46 points off the championship lead.

Geerts said: “It was a really difficult weekend for me, although the first heat was okay. I had a bad start, but I felt pretty good, and I managed to get back to seventh. In the second race, everything that could go wrong, did. I had a bad start, two crashes, and it was just a terrible end to the weekend. I am not happy, but I will try to regroup and improve next weekend.”
