After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Isak Gifting is set to make his long-awaited return to the MXGP World Championship this weekend at Foxhill.
The JK Yamaha rider has been forced to miss the opening eleven rounds of the 2026 MXGP World Championship after suffering a complicated shoulder injury. It was a frustrating setback for the talented Swede, who headed into the season with increased factory support following an impressive 2025 campaign and was aiming to take another step forward this year.
Gifting recently returned to riding and made his competitive comeback at the Faenza night race in the Italian Championship last weekend. It proved to be a positive first outing, with the Swede finishing 3-2 in the MX1 motos. He showed encouraging speed in the second race, finishing just behind Jan Pancar.
With valuable race laps now under his belt, it has now been confirmed that he will make the trip to the UK for the twelfth round of the MXGP World Championship at Foxhill. Racing in the UK has special memories for the Swedish talent, who claimed the MX2 British Championship title back in 2023.
After missing the first half of the season through injury, Gifting will now make his eagerly anticipated return to MXGP competition this weekend, providing a welcome boost for both JK Yamaha and the paddock.
