Confirmed: Germany select strong MXoN team for Mantova

The German federation has unveiled the the team they’ll send to this years Motocross of Nations. Max Nagl, Henry Jacobi and Simon Laengenfelder will travel to Mantova at the end of September in what is a strong team.

Max Nagl is getting ready to get back on track for yet another Motocross des Nations, and in the MXGP category. The German rider – who competes at National level now that he is 34 years old – is part of the German selection for this new edition which will be contested in Italy, near Mantova. Nagl has not participated in a world-class event since June 2019 and the Teutschenthal GP (34th). Present at Red Bud for the Nations of 2018, Max Nagl finished 4th in the Open category (11-6), won by Glenn Coldenhoff.

Henry Jacobi will take part in his 6th Motocross des Nations at the end of the month, but it will be his first riding a 450cc. Entered in the Open category, Henry Jacobi is currently 15th in the MXGP world championship. He missed the 2019 edition of the Nations with an injury a few weeks before going to Assen; he had been replaced by Simon Laengenfelder for the occasion. His last appearance at the nations dates back to 2018 at Red Bud, he teamed up with Max Nagl and Ken Roczen.

Simon Laengenfelder will participate in his second Motocross des Nations at the age of 17. After a first experience in Assen, 2019 – while he was still racing on the Europe 125 that year – the Diga Procross GasGas rider is back in the MX2 category. This time around, the German rider can count on – soon – two seasons of experience in the category. Simon Laengenfelder is currently 11th in the MX2 World Championship and has 4 GP’s in the top 10 since the start of the season.

With Dennis Ullrich, Tom Koch and Simon Laengenfelder, Germany finished 7th at the MXoN event in 2019.
