Cato Nickel signs with Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna

After a number of years being part of the WZ KTM team, Cato Nickel has a new challenge for the 2024 season.

The young German left WZ at the end of February but has quickly secured another ride in the form of Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna.

Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna are a new team to the sport as they are taking on the EMX250 championship this year but have signed up Nickel who will focus on the ADAC MX Masters championship.

Nickel will race selected MXGP World Championship events which is a great opportunity as he has good potential on the bigger bike.

“After I left WZ Racing at the end of February, I initially rode on my own but was already in talks with a few teams. I had a good feeling about Cat Moto, everything met my expectations and that’s how I got in touch with the team”, Nickel told GateDrop.com.

“The switch to 450cc was very convenient for me because of my size and weight, also the switch from KTM to Husqvarna wasn’t difficult for me either, as the two brands are relatively similar. I have no expectations for the ADAC Masters and MXGP, I will do my best in the first races and then see where my position is, but I am very proud to be racing in my first GP race soon”, added Nickel.

“I am also very happy and grateful that everything worked out so quickly and easily with my new team. Now it’s time to get some hours on my new motorcycle to be perfectly prepared for the first race”, Nickel concluded.
